what I'm doing now
we're in the middle of winter here and it's cold. Spending much more time indoors, reading and with my family.
Programming
I spend the majority of my time in Python, Django, and Postgres - a stack I love and don't see changing anytime soon. Lately, I have been spending more time with Polars building baseball analytics and forecasting models which has been a lot of fun.
I'm spending a lot more time working in Go and am completely sold on it. I'm making real progress on my baseball simulator. I hope to have some updates soon.
Baseball And Data Analytics
Outside my business and family, this is where I spend the majority of my time and I love it. I've come to love Polars, and have built some pretty powerful and robust data pipelines to manage a centuries worth of baseball data.
My models are a work in progress but have come a long way in the last year. I'm looking forward to sharing more about them as they mature.
Media Consumption
I'm following Cal Newport's Digital Minimalism framework to reshape my relationship with technology.
I'm happy to say I'm much less distracted and I don't miss social media at all. I'm more focused on what aligns with my core values.
Start Up Advising
I'm advising a pre-launch start-up in the sports industry. It's been a great experience so far, and I love working with the founder. It's going to be an exciting year.
